2023-2024 Team
The Neuroscience Association for Undergraduate Students (NAUS) represents neuroscience students at the University of Toronto.
Stay tuned for the various social and academic events that we organize throughout the year!
Juliet Arsenault
Co-President
Hi all! My name is Juliet, and I am one of 2 Co-Presidents of the NAUS 2023-24 team. This upcoming Fall, I’m pursuing graduate school here at U of T in Neuropharmacy (PharmSci) where I hope to continue my current work in electrophysiology (on sodium channels and NMDArs). Outside of academics, I like reading (current book: The Brothers Karamazov for the third time), and often attempt drawing, painting, mixed media art, etc. where my outcomes are…unique. Nonetheless, I’m passionate about the art scene here in Toronto! Perhaps another fun fact is that I own a precious chinchilla, Gus. I am so proud of this year's NAUS team for their role in strengthening the neuroscience student life and support, and cannot wait to see what next year has in store for my colleagues and this amazing community. I am always available to chat about NAUS, neuroscience, research, chinchillas, etc.– please reach out!
Juan Pablo Escorcia
Co-President
My name is Juan and I am one of the co-presidents for NAUS this year. Like my colleagues, I am super passionate about the brain and its puzzling wonders. In the future, I would like to pursue graduate school and continue researching the brain and related fields. Outside of school and the lab, I love to bike everywhere, play drums, run around the city, and try my luck in the kitchen with new recipes. If you ever want to talk about school, research, music, nature, and/or films, please don’t hesitate to reach out either in person or online. I look forward to helping lead this great student union and build a stronger neuroscience community at UofT. Cheers!

Fateen Kabir
2nd-Year Rep
Yo it’s ya boi Fateen! As the 2nd year representative for NAUS, I wanted to show my unrivalled passion for neuroscience to the university community and the world. I’m interested in pursuing research on treating neurodegenerative diseases and molecular genetic techniques. Outside of class, I occasionally enjoy watching anime, playing Valorant when it’s not exam season, or making funny videos on Instagram and TikTok. NAUS has allowed me to be the glial cell to support my fellow neurons. I have made many wonderful memories and friends during the 2023-24 academic year through my role and I can’t wait to create more events next year for fellow brain enjoyers. 🧠
Zi Qi Liow
2nd-Year Rep
Hi! My name is Zi Qi! As a 2nd year representative of NAUS, I wanted to build genuine connections in our neuro community, and amplify the student body’s voice in academic and social affairs. Currently, I’m curious about exploring treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, and the power of AI in this field. Outside of academics, I love fashion design and planning DIY editorial photoshoots with my friends haha! I also love watching biopics and learning as much as I can about the world 🌎 NAUS has been such a joy to be a part of, and it’s been an amazing experience meeting like-minded peers who also love neuro
